Florida – A man was arrested in connection with the theft of several puppies valued at $80,000. As reported by Reuters, the man 29-year old Vigil Philip Birch, was in police custody on Saturday after being charged with grand theft and dealing in stolen property.

The dogs reported missing included a prize-winning French bulldog and fifteen puppies. Birch reportedly told police he intended to resell the dogs after buying them for $2,200 each. The puppies were returned to their owner after his arrest.

Miami-based breeder Marcelo Cicuta, who owns the dogs, is quoted by Reuters as stating of their return, “Everything is OK, all the puppies are perfect… I’m very happy… the dogs are happy, Che is very happy.”
