U.S. – Federal prosecutors in New York City have charged three additional people in connection with the black market website Silk Road, as reported by the Associated Press (AP). An unsealed indictment charges Andrew Michael Jones of Charles City, Va., Gary Davis of Wicklow, Ireland, and Peter Phillip Nash of Brisbane, Australia with several counts including money laundering conspiracy and narcotics conspiracy.

As noted by the AP, authorities have stated the website’s operator in San Francisco generated over $1 billion in illegal business from January through September. The site used a digital currency Bitcoin, making activities difficult to track.

Ross William Ulbricht, 29, who prosecutors say operated the website under an alias, was arrested in October and is being held on multiple charges in New York.
