Oklahoma City – Oklahoma police have arrested a prison escapee who had been on the run for over a decade. As reported by Reuters, Anthony Rackley, 62, contacted police to report being blackmailed by a business partner and revealed his identity.

Master Sargent Gary Knight of the Oklahoma City Police Department is quoted by Reuters as stating of the call, “He called initially to report an extortion… He called back and said he needed to talk to us about a situation. He said ‘I’m a prison escapee from Maryland.’ He was very forthright and forthcoming.”

Rackley had assumed the name Jack Watson and told police that his business partner had demanded money from their charity fundraiser and threatened to report that he was a fugitive if he didn’t give it to him. The man had reportedly asked for additional money prior to Rackley making the call.

Maryland authorities are reportedly now seeking to have Rackley extradited.
