Beijing – A reported 92 children who were abducted as part of a child trafficking scheme have been rescued in China. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), 301 suspects were identified as having involvement in the scheme through the police operation.

As noted by the AP, the Ministry of Public Security stated Friday that the operation included involvement from police forces from 11 provinces who helped break up a child trafficking network in central and southwest China.

Such police operations have reportedly become regular occurrences in China where the trafficking of children is a major problem. The country plans to introduce laws that would punish those who buy children.
