Texas – A 53-year-old Texas teacher was jailed for 16 years after being involved in a lesbian relationship with a student for four years. As reported by the Daily Mail, the sentence handed down to Linda Leann Wallace by a court in Beaumont, Texas is one of the harshest ever given for a teacher being involved in an inappropriate relationship.

Wallace reportedly began the relationship with the student when she was 13. The affair ended when the teenager graduated from the school where Wallace was employed as a music teacher, the Legacy Christian Academy.

Wallace entered a guilty plea in July for engaging with an underage student after being arrested last year.

The unidentified female victim is quoted in the report as stating in a victim impact statement, “I was seeking a motherly figure. I trusted you so much. I was robbed spiritually, emotionally, physically, and mentally… But, today I shed light. I’m not going to be silent anymore. I’m not angry with you. This is not the end for you. I completely forgive you. But, there must be consequences.”
