Nebraska – A Nebraska judge ordered the return of $1 million to a former stripper after it was taken by police during a traffic stop. As reported by the New York Daily News, police confiscated the money purportedly belonging to Tara Mishra, 33, of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. after pulling over Rajesh and Marina Dheri in a rented Mercedes while they were transporting the money from California to New Jersey.

The police found $100 bills in ziplock bags in the trunk of the vehicle during a search and arrested the Dheris after suspecting it was drug money.

Mishra, who said the money was part of her savings, took evidence to a trial proving she had agreed to invest it in a club in New Jersey with the Dheris.

U.S. District Judge Joseph F. Bataillon ordered the return of the money to Mishra on Thursday saying, “There is no nexus between the currency and any illegal activity.”
