Baltimore – A single engine plane crashed near Laurel on Thursday, injuring the 70-year-old pilot. As reported by The Baltimore Sun, the plane crashed into two homes in a Maryland City community.

Andy Smith, who lives in the Parkway Village community where the crash occurred, is quoted in the report as stating, “I heard sputtering noises, then just a big bang and that was it… It was going to happen sooner or later — these planes fly so low all the time.”

No one other than the pilot was reportedly injured in the plane crash. The two homes were purportedly unoccupied at the time of the crash. The pilot, Ronald H. Dixon of Bowie, was taken to Maryland Shock Trauma Center and stated to have been in critical condition Thursday afternoon.
