Illinois – A problem was reported by the pilot involved in a plane crash near Wheeling’s Chicago Executive Airport just prior to the accident, according to a report by the Daily Herald. The plane crash landed Tuesday night a half mile near the airport officials have stated.

Airport Manager Dennis Rouleau attributes quick thinking by the pilot of Beechcraft Super King Air 200 for the accident not resulting in more damage or fatalities.

Rouleau is quoted in the report as stating of the accident, “To develop a problem and then put it down on the road instead — it could have been a lot worse… It could have been in some buildings, but he was able to put it down on the street to avoid injuries to himself and people on the ground.”

The pilot was reportedly the only occupant of the plane at the time and sustained minor injuries.
