Arizona – Jodi Arias alluded to the possibility that she would take a plea deal in a tweet sent out by friends over the weekend. As reported by Good Morning America, Arias, who was convicted of first-degree murder last month for the 2008 killing of her ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander, made the suggestion hours prior to the airing of the Lifetime channel movie, “Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret.”

Arias is quoted in the report as stating in two tweets sent out by friends Saturday, “Just don’t know yet if I will plea or appeal… Let’s clear up any confusion. Anyone asking 4 donation$ right now on my behalf 4 my appeals is not legit.”

As noted in the report, the reference may refer to a potential deal in which she could be given the opportunity to accept a sentence of life if she chooses not to appeal her conviction. A deal has not currently been offered.

A court date has purportedly been set for July 18 to begin selection of a new jury for the penalty phase of the case, after the first jury was unable to agree on whether the death penalty should be imposed.
