Butte, Montana – A Montana man has been reunited with a bird he lost in a divorce battle more than five years earlier. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the man, Mike Taylor was able to retrieve the 25-year-old macaw from a sanctuary on Sunday years after his wife sold the bird following their divorce.

A friend of Taylor’s reportedly initially spotted the bird, called Love Love, while visiting Montana’s Parrot & Exotic Bird Sanctuary in Butte. Taylor then visited the sanctuary where it had been surrendered a couple of years ago.

The bird, according to Taylor, appeared to recognize its former owner right away.

Taylor, who was also able to get the bird’s original cage after locating it on Craigslist, is quoted as stating of losing the bird, “I’ve been kind of looking for him the whole time.”
