Dallas – The driver in a recent North Texas tour bus crash reportedly was also a driver in a fatal crash in 1998. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), Loyd Rieve, 65, was confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety to have been driving a tour bus across an Irving highway when it crashed into a median and turned on its side with 46 passengers on board.

Two passengers died and several others were injured in the crash Thursday. Rieve was stated to have been driving for a different company years prior, striking and killing a man at an accident scene who was trying to render aid. Rieve was not charged in the 1998 accident, but he was sued for negligence.

Thursday’s accident is still under investigation.
