Detroit – A lawsuit has been filed against Ford Motor Co over sudden acceleration issues linked to over 30 of the company’s vehicle models. As reported by Reuters, 20 consumers from 14 states in the U.S. are part of the suit alleging the second-largest automaker in the country sold vehicles with the unintended acceleration risks for more than a decade.

Models included on the list of those purported to be vulnerable to acceleration problems are 2004-2010 Ford F-Series pick-up trucks, 2005-2009 Lincoln Town cars, and others.

Adam Levitt, a partner at Grant & Eisenhofer and head of the consumer practice group at the law firm, is quoted by Reuters as stating of the lawsuit’s plaintiffs, “They’re trying to be compensated for their economic losses by having overpaid for cars that contained defects… Had they and the other class members been aware of these defects, they either wouldn’t have bought the cars or would have paid a lot less for them.”
