North Carolina – The body of a North Carolina woman was found in a tow yard days after her car was found crashed in a ditch. As reported by UPI.com, the woman, Carolyn Ann Watkins, 62, was reported missing by her son early this week after she had failed to show up at work. Her crashed vehicle had been towed to a storage lot three days before police found her body inside.

Highway Patrol trooper Marlon Williams, who filed a report the day Watkins’ vehicle was found, stated in the report that a driver had not been at the scene of the crash.

Watkins’ son, Al Parker, is quoted in the report as stating of his belief that his mother may have still been alive when her car was found, “I’m thinking she could still have been alive… How do you not look in the car? When you pulled the car out, how do you not see a body in the car?”

The time or cause of death in Watkins’ case has reportedly not yet been determined.
