Universal City – Porn company Vivid Entertainment LLC has filed a lawsuit claiming a law mandating that porn actors wear condoms during sex scenes violates the rights of actors. As reported by the Los Angeles Daily News, the company is seeking to block the new Los Angeles County law, the voter passed Measure B condom law, citing it is in violation of free speech and expression rights of porn actors.

Paul Cambria, an attorney with Lipsitz Green Scime Cambria, a law firm representing Vivid, is quoted by the Los Angeles Daily News as stating of the measure, “It (Measure B) tells a person who is a filmmaker … that you can’t create (one) unless you pay a fee and obtain a permit and do it the way we say, which is all your people must wear condoms.”

Los Angeles County spokesman, David Sommers, is quoted in the report as stating in an email of the lawsuit, which was filed Thursday, “The county has not yet had a chance to review the lawsuit in any detail, so we won’t have a comment or reaction at this time.”
