New Orleans – Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal spoke Thursday of his state income tax elimination proposal, which he asserted would simplify the tax code for the state and create a more business friendly atmosphere, as reported by Reuters.

Jindal, whose proposal details were not released, is quoted in the report as stating of his tax reform plan in a statement released by his office, “Our goal is to eliminate all personal income tax and all corporate income tax in a revenue neutral manner.”

Jindal is further quoted as stating, “Eliminating personal income taxes will put more money back into the pockets of Louisiana families and will change a complex tax code into a more simple system that will make Louisiana more attractive to companies who want to invest here and create jobs.”

The Republican governor also stated he would soon meet with lawmakers to discuss the plan.
