Washington – A recall has been announced on packaged apple slices sold through some grocery and fast food chains. As reported by the Associated Press (AP), the recall has been implemented due to possible listeria contamination, after the bacteria was found on manufacturing equipment by Missa Bay LLC, which is owned by Ready Pac Foods Inc. of Swedesboro, N.J.

The recall also includes packaged vegetables, fruit, sandwiches, and salads distributed through certain convenience store and grocery chains. More information about the states and products concerning the recall may be found at http://www.readypac.com/.

Individuals who may have made purchases of the recalled products are asked to contact Ready Pac at 800-800-7822 and record the use-by dates and UPC codes.
