Taxi Crash at O’Hare International Airport Injures Passenger

Chicago, IL — A taxi overturned outside a terminal at the O’Hare International Airport early Thursday, March 8, 2012, injuring a passenger inside. The automobile accident occurred about 5:30 a.m. on an upper-level roadway outside Terminal 1, reported the Chicago Sun-Times.

The Dodge Caravan taxi, driven by 53-year-old Syed Ibrahim, hit a median and overturned onto its side. It is unknown at this time what caused the cab to hit the median.

Responding emergency crews rushed the 47-year-old female passenger to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge for treatment. The woman reportedly sustained minor injuries in the crash.

Ibrahim refused medical treatment and was issued three traffic citations.

The taxi involved in the crash was leased to KCC Cab Co.

Investigations are underway.
