Rockford, PA — A Pepsi tractor-trailer slammed head-on into a school bus near Rockford in western Pennsylvania, killing one person and injuring several others. The crash occurred around 2:40 p.m., while the bus was transporting students from the Turkeyfoot Valley Area School District to a vocational and technical school in Somerset, reported Fox News.

It is unknown at this time as to what caused the fatal accident on Wednesday, March 14, 2012.

Responding emergency crews rushed eight people by ambulance to Somerset Hospital for medical treatment, while another seven to 10 people were transported by bus to the hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The 22 students who were not injured in the wreck were transported from the scene by another bus.

It is unknown at this time if the fatality was from a passenger on the bus or the driver of the Pepsi semi-truck.

Investigations are underway.
