California criminal attorneys alert- A San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) police officer shot a suspect who pulled out a squirt gun.

San Antonio, CA—A man who pulled out what looked like a gun at a downtown gas station, but turned out to be a squirt gun, was subsequently shot two times by a San Antonio police officer. The ordeal began around 9:30 a.m. at a Shell gas station located near the corner of Guadalupe and South Laredo Street, as reported by Kens5.com.

A San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) officer was reportedly wearing his badge, but was in plain clothes, when he was patrolling the area in an unmarked patrol car. The officer saw two men confronting another man who appeared to be in his 70s. The officer continued to watch the situation from afar, and later decided to call for back up. The officer then began to approach the men with his weapon drawn and identified himself. The suspect then reportedly pulled out a dark purple water pistol and announced, “I have something to f—ing show you.” The officer subsequently fired his duty gun, hitting the man across his torso and in the arm.

The suspect was then transported to the University Hospital for treatment of his gun shot wounds. He is expected to make a full recovery. Both of the two men were arrested and officials believe they may have been under the influence of alcohol at the time. A full investigation is underway.
