Oregon State Police report- A semi-truck crashed into a jogging stroller with a toddler in it.

Corvallis, OR—A semi-truck hit and killed a 2 ½ year-old, who was in a stroller being pushed by his mother on Monday, February 1, 2010. The fatal collision occurred around 10:00 a.m., on Highway 99E near Old Highway 34, as reported by KPTV.com.

Courtney Ayer, 35, the mother of 2 ½ year-old Dylan Ayer, was pushing her son in a jogging stroller, when the stroller was struck by a semi. The crash killed the toddler and injured his mother. It was not reported if Courtney was rushed to the hospital by emergency medical services (EMS) teams for treatment. The truck driver, Marcus Coulter, 37, was not injured and remained at the scene of the wreck. Oregon State Police are trying to determine how the collision occurred, as well as where and when the stroller was hit. A witness stated, “the stroller rolled out into the street and the semi-truck was turning the corner right there. And it rolled completely under the truck and smashed it.” The wreck temporarily closed the northbound lanes of Highway 99E. Oregon State Police are asking anyone who may have saw the fatal wreck to contact the Oregon State Police immediately. It was reported that semi-truck driver has not been cited.
