Crash Sends Vehicle into Downtown Salt Lake City Jiffy Lube; 3 Injured

Salt Lake City, UT — Three people were seriously injured in a collision that sent a vehicle into a downtown Salt Lake City Jiffy Lube. The automobile accident occurred around 3:30 p.m., at the intersection of 400 South and 700 East and the Jiffy Lube located at 677 E. 400 South on Sunday, December 11, 2011.

According to reports, a Mazda sports utility vehicle was headed westbound on 400 South when it hit a northbound Subaru on 700 East. The impact of the crash sent the Mazda across the intersection, off the roadway, and into the driveway of the Jiffy Lube where it ended up in an open service bay.

The out-of-control Mazda hit an employee, before crashing into a Jaguar with a man inside the vehicle.

Responding emergency crews rushed the Jiffy Lube employee and the man inside the Jaguar to the hospital in serious condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A passenger in the Mazda was also transported to the hospital in serious condition.

Police are still investigating the injurious traffic accident. No citations have been issued in connection with the wreck at this time.
