Baldwinsville, NY — The two owners of the Wave Hydro facility were involved in a work-related accident, leaving one man dead after being sucked into a turbine, reported WSYR-TV.

According to officials, the part owner of the facility, Jon C. Stranburg, 60, of Allegany, was pulled into a turbine at the facility while trying to make a repair. He was reportedly wearing a safety harness when he was lowered to the turbine to make the repairs. He apparently slipped and was pulled into the turbine. Officials believe Stranburg had too much line connecting his harness, which would have caused him to be pulled into the turbine.

His body was later located after several hours after the accident took place in a Baldwinsville river.

Neil Collins, the other owner of the facility, was rushed to Crouse Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Officials believe that Collins was trying to help Stranburg during the work-related accident.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) are investigating the fatal work-related accident.
