Michigan ‘Warrior Dash’ Participant Paralyzed During Event

Detroit, MI — A Warrior Dash participant from Rochester Hills was paralyzed from the chest down after diving into a mud pit over the weekend, reported Click On Detroit.

According to officials, Hope College student James Sa, 21, was competing in the 5-kilometer run that was coupled with obstacle courses that include mud crawling, fire jumping, and tire and rope climbing obstacles.

Sa was left paralyzed after landing wrong when he dived into a mud pit.

Event officials reported that over 20,000 people participated in the two-day event, in which several people were injured while participating.

It’s unknown if any changes will be made to the Warrior Dash competition following the serious injury sustained at last weekend’s event.
