San Francisco Pedestrian Accident: Elderly woman hit, killed by SUV

San Francisco, CA– An elderly pedestrian was hit and killed while crossing the street in the San Francisco’s Crocker-Amazon neighborhood. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred at around 5p.m., in the 1700 block of Geneva Avenue, near the city’s southern border, which is a few blocks from the Cow Palace, as reported by

KTVU.

The medical examiner’s office identified the victim as 82-year-old Maria Francisco.

Police officials reported that Francisco was not in the crosswalk, when she was struck by a black eastbound van. The driver of the van, a 23-year-old woman, stopped and cooperated with police following the collision. The motorist claims that she applied the brakes prior to impact.

Responding emergency crews pronounced Francisco dead at the scene.

Investigations into the fatal accident are underway. The motorist has not been charged for the collision, but she was cited for driving on a suspended license.
