Olathe, KS—The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and The Gerson Company has voluntarily recalled about 203,000 20” glass vases and another 9,000 glass vases in Canada. The CPSC announced the recall on September 21, 2010, over laceration hazards the vases pose.

The recall was initiated after discovering that the glass vases can break or fracture, which can pose a laceration hazard to consumers.

The CPSC press release stated, “The recalled vases are made of clear glass and stand about 4″ wide x 20″ tall. The SKU# 405334 and UPC: 0-37916-88960-3 are printed on a label on the bottom of the vase.” The recalled vases were sold nationwide at Michael’s stores and in Canada from July 2006 through March 2010. The vases sold for about $15.

Consumers are advised to stop using the glass vases and discard them immediately. To receive a refund for the vases, consumers can contact The Gerson Company.

For more information concerning the recall, consumers can contact Gerson toll-free at (877) 461-6298 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. CT Monday through Friday, visit their website at www.gersoncompany.com or email to [email protected].
