Two people were killed after torrential rain caused severe flooding on the Greek island of Crete, the fire service said on Sunday.
Rain set in on the southern Greek island, a popular holiday destination, on Saturday morning, hitting the Heraklion region particularly hard.
Greek firefighters said the body of a 49-year-old woman was found in the sea on Sunday, bringing the death toll from the floods to two.
On Saturday, a man in his 50s was found dead after being trapped in his car when torrential rain began.
The two people went to Heraklion for work, Greek public television ERT reported.
A second missing person was found alive Saturday night.
The rains forced the evacuation of several homes and caused extensive damage in coastal villages, where roads became rivers that swept away everything in their path, local media reported.
The flash floods have thrown several cars into the sea along the beach at the seaside resort of Agia Pelagia, with some almost completely submerged in the water surrounded by debris.
The beach was littered with trash, including plastic bottles and toys, alongside straw umbrellas.
The floods also damaged more than 15 shops, mostly upscale restaurants, in Agia Pelagia, popular with wealthy patrons.
The civil defense department said it had been mobilized and urged all citizens to be vigilant in Crete and the surrounding islands of Rhodes, Karpathos, Kastellorizo ??and Kasos on Sunday.
