MyEtherWallet, or MEW, roll out On Thursday, its first collection of non-fungible tokens (NFT) is called ETH Blocks, which marks individual blocks on the Ethereum blockchain. The unique image associated with the ETH block is generated based on the block data. These NFTs are only available to MEW users through the MyEtherWallet website.

According to the company, some blocks have already been claimed. The founder of Ethereum called the first dib on blocks 1 to 10.There are 13 ETH block representatives The history of Ethereum -For example, the major milestones, forks and updates of the blockchain-have been auctioned for a month, and the auction proceeds will be donated to organizations such as the Slum Housing Trust Fund, Wikipedia, Code Girls, and NPR, among others.

Cointelegraph spoke with MEW CEO Kosala Hemachandra to learn more about the original Ethereum wallet’s decision to adopt NFT and innovate on the Ethereum blockchain:

“MEW is committed to helping newcomers and experienced users explore new ways of Ethereum in a trustworthy environment to make history by introducing NFT.”

He went on to explain that the project aims to provide full access to all Ethereum blockchains. Since most NFT markets are currently built on the Ethereum blockchain, he told us that it makes sense to involve Ethereum users of all skill levels so that they can mint and own unique parts of the blockchain itself.

When asked about what he believes are the value drivers behind owning ETH blocks, Hemachandra told Cointelegraph:

“The amazing thing about ETH blocks is that they can be sentimental, meaningful, or an educational tool. Users [can] Control the ETH blocks the way they want, and be as creative as possible in the way they share them and where they are on the blockchain. “

Hemachandra added that although the ETH block may be sentimental to users, the history of Ethereum and “each individual fork and upgrade also hold a special place in the hearts of the MEW team.” Since the establishment of the Ethereum blockchain and MyEtherWallet in 2015, Hemachandra pointed out that MEW has prioritized being at the forefront of innovation in the Ethereum community:

“we believe [Ethereum] It can grow into the undisputed best blockchain of Web3. Now, with ETH Blocks, we can all remember how we got there when we arrived! “

Earlier this year, Hemachandra wrote an article for Cointelegraph about Beyond the value of NFT hypeWith the release of ETH Blocks, he and the MEW team hope to demonstrate their belief in the potential of Ethereum and the endurance of NFT.
