San Diego-Homicide detectives are investigating the cause of death of a man after the shooting in Emerald Mountain Park earlier on Monday.

According to the police department’s press release, the San Diego police received a call about the shooting in the Emerald Mountain area at 2:14 in the morning. Respondents found a man in the parking lot of Emerald Hills Park with obvious gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The SDPD officer started first aid and CPR until the fire rescue arrived there. The medical staff took the unidentified man (believed to be in his 30s) to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Investigators are trying to find witnesses to help determine the cause of the shooting. According to SDPD, they have not yet determined the identity of the victim.
