The Canadian economy added 231,000 jobs last month, offsetting the losses caused by the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions and the restart of hiring by companies in the previous two months.

Statistics Canada reported on Friday that 264,000 new jobs were part-time. The full-time job actually cuts 33,000 positions.

Almost all new jobs are added among young workers between the ages of 15 and 24. The number of jobs for this group has surged by 164,000. This is the biggest increase since July 2020.
