According to the Vancouver Police Department, on Monday morning, two police officers were stabbed while making a call in the eastern suburbs of downtown Vancouver.

The police received a 9/11 report that a two-year-old child was forcibly imprisoned in a residence in the Strathcona community near Keefer Street and Gore Avenue. The police said that when they entered the suite, there was a fight and both officers were stabbed.

The police said they used a Taser on a 59-year-old man.

The two police officers have been taken to the hospital and are in stable condition. The man was also taken to the hospital for treatment.

The BC Independent Investigation Office, a police oversight agency led by civilians, has been notified.
