San Mateo woman dies in SUV accident in Sonoma County.

San Mateo, CA(JusticeNewsFlash.com)–A fatal automobile accident involving two vehicles killed a San Mateo woman and injured two others on Sunday afternoon. The Press Democrat reports the two-car wreck took place at approximately 1:50 p.m. on Sunday at the Guerneville Road and Vine Hill Road intersection. California Highway Patrol (CHP) state troopers say a 2002 Honda Civic, traveling northbound on Vine Hill Road, was stopped at the intersection. The driver of the Honda was 47 year-old Kathleen Acord. A 1995 Jeep Cherokee SUV, driven by 31 year-old Jeffrey Anderson of Santa Rosa, was heading eastbound on Guerneville Road towards the intersection when Acord’s vehicle started to pull out into the SUV’s path. Sonoma County police investigators state the Honda stopped for a second, but then continued to accelerate all of a sudden. The SUV had the right of way. Sonoma County police officials say the SUV hit the left, driver-side door, of Acord’s vehicle, resulting in her death.

Santa Rosa emergency medical services (EMS) team pronounced Acord dead at the accident scene. Her husband, Charles Chapman, was a passenger in the vehicle. Chapman sustained major injuries and was taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital by California paramedics. Anderson was also taken to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries by doctors and nurses. Police authorities did not indicate whether the SUV had any other occupants. California roadway fatality detectives remain investigating the cause of the Honda driver’s maneuver into the SUV’s path, causing the motor vehicle collision (MVC).
