San Diego (CNS)-San Diego County public health officials reported 25 new COVID-19 cases on Monday, with no new deaths because the county received more than 4 million vaccinations.

Monday’s data brought the total number of cases to 279,714, and after the county’s review of the death toll, the death toll was reduced to 3,749. Since it was determined that the cause was not COVID-19, during routine quality assurance and re-examination, two previously reported death cases were deleted from this case, and death counts were performed.

Of the 5,985 tests reported to the County Health and Human Services Bureau on Monday, 0.4% returned positive. The 14-day rolling average is 1%.

San Diego County started the “Our Health Is Worth a Shot” challenge on Monday, allowing young people aged 12 to 24 to submit video and visual art projects to encourage people to get vaccinated. This challenge will accept entries before June 14.

The county has received more than 4 million doses and managed nearly 3.56 million doses. Nearly 1.9 million residents of San Diego County have received a dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, which represents 90.3% of the way to achieve the county’s goal of vaccinating 75% of residents 12 years and older (ie 2,101,936 people).

Among people over 12 years old, about 1.46 million people (69.7% of the county’s target) have been fully vaccinated with two doses of Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or a single Johnson & Johnson vaccine.
