Prince Albert RCMP officer arrested on suspicion of killing 26-year-old man

A Royal Mounted Police officer of Prince Albert of Saskatchewan was arrested in connection with the death of a 26-year-old man on Tuesday night.

The Criminal Investigation Department of the Prince Albert Police Department is investigating the deaths in this homicide.

According to the news released by the police on Wednesday afternoon, the city police responded to a “forest area” of Prince Albert on Tuesday evening after a deceased person had been reported. Prince Albert is about 130 kilometers northeast of Saskatoon.

According to the police, the Mounted Police, who was not on duty at the time, was subsequently arrested. The police said the officer and the victim knew each other.

The Prince Albert Police Department requested the appointment of an independent observer to supervise the investigation.

The police have not disclosed any names or further details.
