About the lawsuit

Enviva and certain of its officers are alleged to have failed to disclose material information during the Class Period in violation of federal securities laws.

On October 12, 2022, Blue Orca Capital reported a number of allegations against the company premarket, including that “newly discovered data indicates . . . the company is blatantly greenwashing its wood procurement”; “Enviva is a dangerously leveraged serial fundraiser whose deteriorating cash conversion and unprofitability will drain it of cash over the next year”; and that it is “a product of deranged European climate subsidies that incentivize the destruction of American forests so European energy companies can tick a bureaucratic box.”

As a result of the news, Enviva shares fell about 13.13% to close at $51.23 per share.

The case is fagen v. Enviva et al., 22-cv-02844.
