- Walmart Inc WMT will pay $215 million to break up his opioid ties in Florida. As part of the agreement, Walmart also agreed to give 672,000 treatment kits containing the anti-overdose drug naloxone to first responders.
- The state has now secured $3.2 billion through legal action to combat the opioid crisis, including $683 million Walgreens Boots Alliance Inc WBA$484 million with CVS Health Corp CVand a combined $394 million with three drug manufacturers.
- “This partnership is the latest chapter in Walmart’s commitment to addressing the opioid crisis,” Walmart spokesman Randy Hargrove said in a statement.
- The dealer did not admit any wrongdoing. It previously settled opioid-related claims from West Virginia for $65 million and New Mexico for an undisclosed sum. In August, it was also ordered to pay $650.6 million along with Walgreens and CVS in two counties of Ohio.
