“We have done great progress this year advancing our research and development programs and securing important intellectual property to support and protect it,” he said Managing Director George Tziras.

“We secured eight patents granted So far this year, bringing our total from four to twelve. Granting this second US patent effectively protects all pharmaceutical formulations of the indicated deuterated DMT compounds, allowing us to advance our deuterated pipeline with even greater confidence.”

In fact, the new patent will further strengthen the Company’s intellectual property position by being equivalent to an existing European patent, thereby expanding protection for the Company’s deuterated DMT pipeline in the global marketplace.

Short-acting psychedelic-assisted therapies in development are currently focused on treating depression with lead candidate SPL026, a proprietary synthetic formulation of DMT. More specifically, Small Pharma is advancing a clinical program using intravenous (IV) SPL026 in conjunction with psychotherapy for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD).
