Sema4 Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:SMFR) Securities Fraud Class Action:

The lawsuit challenges the defendants’ statements regarding Sema4’s billing practices and reported earnings.

In particular, the defendants allegedly misrepresented and withheld: (1) there was a significant risk that Sema4 would reverse a substantial amount of previously reported revenue that it was unable to recover from third-party payers; (2) the company experienced decreasing selling prices for its reproductive health segment; and (3) as a result of the foregoing, Sema4’s financial results would be adversely affected.

The company also announced that its President and Chief R&D Officer (Eric Schadt) is stepping down and laying off approximately 13% of its workforce as part of a series of restructuring and corporate realignments.

This news caused the price of Sema4 shares to fall by 33% on August 16, 2022.
