Auto Safety Agency completes investigation into Goodyear tire safety

• The US Auto Safety Administration will drop an investigation it started in 2017 into some people’s safety Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co GT Tires for mobile homes.
• Goodyear Tire & Rubber recalled 173,000 275/70R22.5 G159 tires used on recreational vehicles due to the potential for catastrophic tread separation.
• The regulatory investigation resulted in at least 95 death or injury claims.
• The Pentagon has approved the use of an alloy of Chinese origin in a component for Lockheed Martin Corporation LMT F-35 jet engines.

Teva is suspected of fending off competition with Copaxone

• This is what the European Commission says in an interim report Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (NYSEL TEVA) violated European Union (EU) antitrust rules for practices that delay competition for the multiple sclerosis drug Copaxone.
• “Effective protection of intellectual property is the key to this scientific advance. We are concerned that Teva may have abused the patent system to insulate itself from competition,” said Margrethe Vestager, head of the Competition Policy Commission.
