Strengthens intellectual property (IP) protections related to Electrocoagulation (EC) and HydroGas technologies
DALLAS, TX, Oct. 6, 2022 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — via NewMediaWire – NaturalShrimp, Inc. SCHMPan aquaculture biotechnology company that developed and patented the first commercially operated shrimp-focused Recirculating Aquaculture System (RAS) and its technology partner Hydrenesis, Inc., today announced the filing of a joint patent application in the United States to further strengthen the Intellectual
Protection of property (IP) related to Electrocoagulation (EC) and HydroGas technologies.
EC and Hydrogas have demonstrated their effectiveness in improving welfare levels not only in shrimp production but also in finfish, as evidenced by third party trials conducted at a leading aquaculture testing facility in Bergen, Norway. The newly filed patent application incorporates technology co-developed by NaturalShrimp and Hydrenesis as a strategy to augment existing IP protection with additional and more advanced methods and devices. NaturalShrimp will license the EC and HydroGas technologies for various aquatic species.
“We are constantly looking for ways to improve the efficiency and broad application of our technologies, not just in shrimp but in other aquatic species as well,” said Tom Untermeyer, Chief Operations Officer and Chief Technology Officer. “Our collaboration with Hydrenesis to develop the new technologies has strengthened our technical capabilities and we look forward to further joint development work with Hydrenesis to further enhance our IP portfolio.”
Gerald Easterling, Chief Executive Officer, added, “As we continue to expand our shrimp production capabilities, owning additional IP like this will only strengthen our presence both domestically and internationally as we expand over the next few years.”
David Antelo, President and CEO of Hydrenesis added, “The close relationship between the NaturalShrimp and Hydrenesis engineering teams has accelerated development…
