Elon Musk and Twitter could soon end litigation: Reuters – Twitter

Musk and Twitter were expected to reach an agreement as early as Wednesday, but talks are ongoing and a deal may take longer, according to Reuters reportedciting a source familiar with the matter.

Judge Kathleen McCormick lately sent a reminder to the attorney in the court case involving the two parties recently, which said, “The parties have not filed a motion to stay this action, nor has any party sought a stay. I therefore continue to urge our process to begin on October 17, 2022.”

The judge also brought up instant messages Musk may have deleted related to the agreement to purchase Jack Dorsey-founded social media platform.

“If the defendants deleted documents after they were required to retain them, a remedy is appropriate, but the appropriate remedy is unclear to me at this time,” McCormick said.

This week, Musk revived his bid to buy Twitter Original price of $54.20 per share amid ongoing litigation.

Price promotion: On Wednesday, Twitter shares closed 1.3% lower at $51.32, down 0.6% after the close. On the same day, Tesla shares closed 3.5% lower at $240.81, up 0.1% in extended trading Data from Benzinga Pro.
