The lawsuit against Tesla Inc TSLA chairman Elon Musk which accuses him and his electric car company of extortion has reportedly been expanded.
What happened: The $258 billion lawsuit has expanded to include seven new plaintiffs and six new defendants, including his tunneling company Boring Co So far, SpaceXa space exploration company led by Musk, was also named. reported Reuters.
That Dogecoin Foundation was also added to the list of new defendants in the case, dubbed Johnson et al. against Musk et al. in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

Why it matters: The case was filed by a named person Keith Johnson in June amid a crash in the price of cryptocurrencies, including Dogecoin.
Johnson has sought $86 billion in damages and an additional $172 billion in treble damages, along with an injunction preventing Musk and the companies from commercializing DOGE and the cryptocurrency to U.S. and Declare New York law illegal.
The lead plaintiff claimed that the defendants “reaped tens of billions of dollars” at the expense of Dogecoin investors while being aware that the memecoin had no intrinsic value and its value rested “solely on marketing.”
“Dogecoin is not a currency, stock or security, it is not backed by gold or other precious metals or anything. You cannot eat it, grow it or carry it,” the complainant said.
Shortly after the lawsuit was filed on June 16, Musk said he would “Keep supporting Dogecoin.”
