People have too much money.

This happens when belief in the American Dream gets out of hand.

The American Dream is dead, and you have a statistically higher chance of moving up the economic food chain in Europe than in the US. But a disinformation campaign by the wealthy who control our country has made that dream a reality so that the lower classes don’t rebel. So you hope you can do it, you believe you can do it, and if you try to do it, you don’t want to be taxed. But the end result is that you don’t make it, and those who have the wealth, usually for generations, keep it.

But it got worse. A lot of wealthy people are associated with multinational corporations, so they don’t pay the low taxes they should, ie they hide their income abroad. Ever heard of the Panama Papers? Read Bill Browder’s new book, Russian oligarchs move all their money to ‘neutral’ Switzerland. But not just Switzerland, but Cyprus and the Bahamas… Your army of lawyers could block the government indefinitely. Even U2 uses a tax scheme to keep funds in the Netherlands. You don’t want to give back to Ireland, the country that nurtured and supported you and made you who you are.

There is a saying that the rich make money independently. This is far from the truth. If people stopped buying Teslas, Elon Musk’s fortune would dwindle rapidly. SpaceX is backed by the government and the companies that use it to launch satellites.

But it got worse. Musk believes he is more powerful than the government, so he is immune. Yes, he was supposed to file with the SEC when he bought a certain amount of Twitter stock, but he didn’t. He has a long history of making deals with governments and then breaking them and/or demanding relief.

As for Twitter… Of course, every company can improve. But do we really need someone in charge of the business to decide what to do? It’s one thing if you build a company, it’s another if you buy and switch companies on a whim because you’re so fucking rich.

The best/worst examples are Peter Thiel and Gawker. He let the company go out of business because it made him think he was gay. Thiel did this by funding Hulk Hogan’s lawsuit. There’s more than one way to skin a cat when you’re a billionaire.

Speaking of government…it’s controlled by the rich. Because they are rich people. There’s been a lot of coverage in the papers recently, but people don’t know it, they’re too busy worrying about hip-hop beef and having fun cheering on the team on Fox News. They don’t want you to know the truth, you might get angry, you might rebel.

Rupert Murdoch, an Australian citizen, came to the United States to become a U.S. citizen and lobbied for changes to the rules limiting ownership of television stations. You don’t even have change in your pocket!

They keep saying it can’t happen here. But Trump proved authoritarianism is on our doorstep. It can happen here, and it seems to be happening, looking at changes to voting laws, not to mention the removal of abortion rights.

It all comes down to money. Fat cat. Not just the Koch family, but hedge fund money. The names are there, but they get little attention. The biggest scapegoat was George Soros, while Elon Musk acted in full view and narrowly escaped.

I don’t want to live in a country where billionaires can change the course of history as they please.

I don’t want to live in a country where you can work for an established company and make 50 or 100 million or more a year. It’s one thing if you start it, but why get this kind of cash if you’re just managing it? There are countless criminals, even Tim Apple. Cook is running what Jobs built, and the real innovation is in the rearview mirror, but when his tenure at Apple ends, he’ll be a billionaire. Cook’s name is something you know, and there’s a lot you don’t.

This is an insiders club. They sat on each other’s boards and granted those paydays and lobbied the government to approve their actions. As for the government, the financial industry brought the government down, they were not punished, they were rewarded! They got money to keep the country going. No one goes to jail, no one pays, which makes these bastards believe they are immune. Unlike you, they are largely like that.

You are blown away by their whimsy.

And the poor don’t pay taxes. They may not pay income tax, but they pay a lot of tax every day, and they have to spend all of their income to make ends meet, which the rich don’t.

So Putin waged war on Ukraine with almost impunity. It’s on the front page of every newspaper, on cable, but it’s remote and you focus on what’s in front of you and there’s nothing you or anyone can do about it. Everyone is afraid of causing a nuclear fire. So Putin’s army committed war crimes and what happened in Butha was appalling, but experts think he can skate.

They hit the Russian oligarchs. Whoever may have stolen their assets, Putin is complicit, but somehow the rest of the world’s oligarchs are immune. They’re buying mega yachts, they’re showing off their wealth, they’re almost untouchable.

Musk is a lunatic. Smart, yes. Responsible for success, yes. But look at the behavior in his personal life. Multiple marriages, multiple children. Statement on Twitter. Is this the one we are responsible for?

of course not!

His goal is freedom of speech on Twitter…not penalizing himself, but also allowing disinformation on the site, like getting Trump back in office. We need guardrails in society. We need limits. We need laws. We can’t have free.

This has to stop.

But it won’t. Because these people are in control and don’t want to give up power. Talk to anyone with money and they’ll say they need to pay less tax, they make money, they should keep it, and the government wastes it. Well, again, they’re not made out of thin air. If you think you want to live in a country without laws…you don’t. You like the law, you like being protected, you like the police.

But they couldn’t even identify Trump, Congress feared a backlash, and in New York City, the new DA cut the case and those charged with prosecuting left their jobs. It’s always the same, 1/6 people who invade the Capitol…they go to jail, thank goodness, but the big guys, the people in charge, they get away with it. Just like Wall Street in 2008.

People will wake up. When it was too late. when their freedom is compromised. It’s like boiling a lobster, you don’t realize you’re being cooked until it’s too late.
