In Reversal, State Supreme Court Upholds ‘Revenge Porn’ Law as Constitutional

The Indiana Supreme Court upheld a state law that criminalizes “revenge porn” this week,  overturning a trial court’s ruling that found the statute violated state and federal constitutional rights.

The 2019 law—Ind. Code Section 35-45-4-8(d), dubbed the “revenge porn law”—which criminalizes non-consensual distribution of an “intimate image,” is constitutional, the high court said in a unanimous decision filed Tuesday.
