The two companies announced on Wednesday that medical navigation company Castlight Health and primary care provider Vera Whole Health are merging to improve the way medical services are obtained, provided and purchased.

“Combining our navigation data and technology with Vera Whole Health’s high-quality primary care products meets the basic need for a coordinated and personalized patient experience,” Castlight Health CEO Maeve O’Meara said in a press conference .

Vera Whole Health’s major shareholder and private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice will invest US$338 million in the merger. Anthem health solutions, Morgan Health And the Central Ohio Primary Care Center will become important strategic partners.

Clayton, Dubilier & Rice invested in Vera Whole Health last year, after it previously funded value-based care systems such as agilon health, Millennium Physician Group and naviHealth.
