Retail giant H&M debunks rumors that Metaverse and Ceek are cooperating to open stores – Bitcoin News

H&M, a major fashion company, has denied rumors that it will open a store in Metaverse. According to false reports, customers can walk through the store and purchase products in the Ceek meta space.

H&M denies Metaverse rumors and cooperation with Ceek

Several major publications reported on Monday that retail clothing giant H&M has opened a 3D store in Metaverse, including Economic Times and Mixable India.

H&M (Hennes & Mauritz) is a large fashion and design company with 53 online markets and stores in 75 markets around the world. As one of the world’s largest clothing brands, as of September 30, 2021, H&M has 4,856 stores worldwide. Its largest markets are Germany, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Sweden, Russia, Italy and the Netherlands.

However, the company denied reports that it is opening a store in Metaverse. When Bitcoin.com News asked about this news, a H&M spokesperson clarified:

We want to confirm that H&M will not open a store in Metaverse at this time.

According to false reports, the company stated that customers will be able to walk into the store, choose the products they want, and buy in the Ceek City universe. Payments must be made with cheek tokens (CEEK).

The Ceek virtual reality environment is managed by a smart contract on the Binance Smart Chain (BSC), with detailed information on its website.

In addition, the false report also claimed that customers will be able to order the clothes seen in the H&M Metaverse Store from their physical store later.

Rumors of H&M opening a store in Yuanjie followed closely tweet It was released by Ceek’s official Twitter account on December 7th last year. The company said it has created a “concept VR store” that will be shown to H&M.

However, a spokesperson for H&M told Bitcoin.com News:

We also did not cooperate with Ceek.

Ceek’s official Twitter account later clarified on Monday: “The H&M store in the Ceek metaverse is just a concept to show to H&M, not a real virtual store. We are discussing with the people at H&M to make this a reality, but it’s not yet Reality.”
