The theater chains AMC and Sony Pictures are offering NFTs as gifts to those who bought early tickets for the premiere of “Spider-Man: Homeless”. These tickets (and the opportunity to reclaim the gift NFT) are only available to users who have different subscriptions from AMC in its app (AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere or Investor Connect). NFTs will be issued on the Wax blockchain, and only 86,000 NFTs are available.
“Spider-Man: No Way To Go” Receives NFT Treatment
AMC has partnered with Sony to provide NFT Dedicated to the purchasers of tickets to the premiere of “Spider-Man: No Way Back”.The announcement was made through AMC Web portals, Which specifies ticket sales for the December 16 premiere beginning yesterday. The company will only issue 86,000 NFTs to AMC’s benefit plan subscribers (AMC Stubs A-List, Premiere, or Investor Connect), and users of the app will be able to retrieve them when assisting the feature after scanning the code.
This is the first time that AMC has used famous franchise rights such as Marvel’s Spider-Man to enter the NFT field. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this may be a test flight for AMC to attract moviegoers to crowd the theaters again after the dry season. Regarding this promotion, Adam Aron, Chairman and CEO of AMC, statement:
The guests of the AMC Theater and our AMC Entertainment shareholders have been calling for AMC to enter the world of NFT. We can’t imagine a more perfect way to start doing this than with our good friends at Sony Pictures.
Eco NFT and art
AMC advertises these Spider-Man NFTs as “eco-friendly”, which means that the chain that distributes them is energy-efficient. NFT will be in Wax blockchain, Claiming to be carbon neutral. Wax is a dedicated NFT blockchain that simplifies the way brands and platforms release products on the Wax network.
The platform has cooperated with several well-known brands and claims to process more than 15 million transactions per day, while the cost and energy consumption are only a small part of the competition. The artistic design of the NFT series is made by Cub Studio, An experienced animation studio, whose work has won multiple awards. More than 100 models will be directly designed by the studio for display in Drop’s NFT artwork.
