Inspection: Chip Kahn of the American Hospital Federation on unexpected bills


In a few months, the “No Accident Law” will come into effect. For patients, this means less worrying about unexpected medical expenses from doctors or hospitals outside the network. For providers and payers, the Biden government rule issued on September 30 means insurance for patients who did not accidentally or deliberately receive a balanced bill, because the rule will bring significant penalties.
