Solana Labs, the organization that manages the Solana blockchain, started its latest ecosystem hackathon today, with a focus on Web3, DeFi, games, and NFT.
Ignition is the fourth hackathon after Solana successfully held Solana Season Hackathon earlier this summer It has 13,000 registrations, more than 350 project submissions, and more than 50 projects that are building on Solana and raising funds immediately.
Microsoft, Jump Trading, Standard Chartered Bank, Forte and Metaplex joined Solana Capital as category sponsors of the hackathon, offering up to $5 million in prizes and seed funding pools.
In addition to category sponsors, Solana ecosystem companies Serum, Mango, Pyth network, Raydium, Solend, Stardust, and Wormhole network all provided a bonus of US$30,000 for the best project integration, and a bonus of US$5,000 was provided by Chain link.
The ignition time is from August 31st to October 8th. The overall champion will win $75,000 in USDC and a pass to participate in the first Solana annual conference Breakpoint, where they will showcase their projects.
The judges and speakers will include Jeremy Allaire, Amy Wu, Ali Yayha, 0xMaki, Matthew Graham, etc.
