San Diego (CNS)-At least one person died on the ramp from San Diego to Interstate 15 on Sunday.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on the eastbound ramp of Mira Mesa Avenue and was reported at 3:39 pm.

Brad Kvedris told the City News Service that he saw many cars parked near the ramp when driving north on Highway 15.

“I must have been there a minute or two after the accident, when a CHP motorcycle officer stopped,” Kvedris said. “I saw a woman lying on her back and seemed unresponsive. Someone pumped water on her chest to perform CPR on her.”

Kvedris said he stayed there for a few minutes, but didn’t want to get in the way. He said his hypothesis was that one of the cars parked there hit a pedestrian.

From the log of the Health Protection Center, the victim was a pedestrian, but it is not clear whether anyone was arrested.

No information about the age of the victim was immediately known.
