This is SunSport Martin Lipton Report on the victory of the GB team’s boxer Galal Yafai in Tokyo:

Galal Yafai continued to hold GB’s winning streak and reached the quarterfinals-but admitted that he is far from good enough.

On Tuesday, the 28-year-old flyweight Yafayi defeated Patrick Chinmba of Zambia to face Cuba’s former world champion Yusmani Vitia.

Brummie Yafai is the third of three boxing brothers including the 2008 Olympic and WBA super lightweight champion Khalid. He won a single point from a Cuban judge with a 3-2 majority ruling.

Strangely, despite the standing count, the Argentine official let the slippery and elusive Chinyemba play the second round, and he boxed completely in the retreat.

Yapha admitted: “This is a nightmare.

“I have to step up on Tuesday, one million percent. If I box like this again, I don’t deserve a medal, am I?”
